Q:>So why on earth choose to base my corner of the web on fairy's, fairies, faeries?
Well the answer is simple really I fell in love with faeries at an early age with my beloved cicely Mary barker flower faeries. As a child I had the one of the four books "flower faeries of the Autumn" I loved it.
I also loved the "pre-raphite's art age" The women in the pictures always reminded me of my mum.
Tamsin my sister whom is a massively talented artist she would have all sorts of things stuffed in our room she's like a a magpie anything that sparked or caught her eye and drawings/paintings of that era would end up in her side of our room I would spend many an hour looking for the best birthdays and Christmas prezzies, so in the hunt for pretties for her, I fell in love with for all things Romantic/legendary/Celtic.
My Gran and granddad would make up stories and pass on legends not sure which to keep us busy in the car on long journeys my Gran like that had us staring out of the windows as we drove across the moor looking for piskies
Then with all of the Disney films with the more fairy godmothers. in and of course Tinker bell and other cartoon greats as Willo the wisp with the loveable Mavis cruet and Fern gully with Christa so growing up with all of that.
It wasn't until my son Charlie was born that I stumbled upon Anne gedess and my passion was rekindled Then Madeline arrived that was it an excuse to fill her room with all my faerie bit and bobs but it kind of overflows into the house as fairy's have become more popular in the last few years
But the biggest revolution to my faerie madness has bean the internet I until may 00 I had never Evan sent an e mail but my Hubble bought a computer to so I could at least learn to switch one on and the first night I stumbled upon a web competition were people we so into faeries and well every thing fantasy based I could think of well that was it.
.. and so with the moors of Dartmoor in my view I have decided to put down on screen some of the things I have gathered and have learnt about the mysterious world which I'm going to call "Fairycakes"
